Cleaning sex toys? About the how and why
After using it, most people just toss their toys to the side to clean them later, sometimes even several days later. Don’t do it! It’s better to immediately clean your toys, or within a few hours.
This prevents nasty infections and increases their life span. How do you clean a toy? Here are some tips:
First time
Are you using a sex toy for the very first time? Check it carefully first. Can’t find any strange tears, scents or other strange things? Perfect! Clean it properly with these tips:
Sex toy cleaner
Rinse off your toy carefully with warm water and then use the special toy cleaner. Disinfect the toys using a clean cloth or paper towels.
Antibacterial cloth
You can also clean your toy with an antibacterial cloth (such as Dettol cloths and the like). This is faster and easier, but in the end a real toy cleaner really disinfects better.
Antibacterial soap
Wash your toy with antibacterial soap. Quick and easy. You could dry it off with a clean cloth or paper towel. Please make sure no pieces of paper are left inside creases or holes!
Dishwasher
Put your toy in the dishwasher; the machine will do the work for you. You can only do this with non-electric and non-porous toys (such as dildos, butt plugs, and the like). Don’t add any dishwasher detergent! The chemical substances can harm your toy. Of course this is not the most discrete solution and not really a good one if you have children.
Boiling
You can boil non-porous and non-electric toys clean as well. Put the toy in a pan with hot boiling water for about 10 minutes.
Microwave
Non-porous and non-electric toys can also be boiled clean in the microwave. Put the toy in a microwave-proof dish or bowl and fill it with water until the toy is completely submerged. Put the microwave on the highest setting for about 7 minutes and your toy is clean.
Tips
♥ Toys easily attract dust and hairs. Always rinse your toys with lukewarm water before using them. This prevents a lot of problems.
♥ Is the toy made of 100% silicone? Then it’s non-porous and you can clean it with every method. If not? Use a toy cleaner for the best results.
