The many types of male orgasms
As with women, orgasms in men come in many forms. Ejaculation, which is when semen is released from the penis, is the standard way for men to have an orgasm. But did you know that there are 6 other ways in which men can come? We tell you all about these types of orgasms and, of course, how to experience them!
Orgasms in men
When you think of a male orgasm, you often think of only one thing: ejaculation. Still, it’s worth experimenting with other forms of orgasms for men.
Standard orgasm or ejaculation
Let’s start at the beginning: ejaculation. In other words, the standard orgasm when you think of male orgasms. The standard orgasm lasts between approximately 5 and 20 seconds and occurs in different phases.
- You become mentally aroused.
- You become physically aroused: your penis becomes hard and your heartbeat goes up.
- The plateau phase is when the arousal continues to increase. The tension is building. Your heart rate and breathing become faster.
- When you’re sufficiently aroused, you climax. This feels like a contraction in the penis, and semen comes out of your penis at the same time.
Orgasms in men: full body orgasm
A full body orgasm – also called a blended orgasm – is achieved when several erogenous zones are stimulated simultaneously. Suppose that your prostate is stimulated, while at the same time you’re jerking off or masturbating – this results in a full body orgasm. Everything feels so intensely good that you don’t know exactly where the orgasm came from.
Prostate orgasm
The male prostate is a very sensitive spot. It’s also called the male G-spot: the P-spot. This P-spot feels like a walnut, and you can feel it when you finger yourself anally. You can also stimulate the P-spot with a sex toy. Not a fan of inserting things in your anus? It’s still possible to stimulate the prostate. You exert pressure on the perineum: the area between the anus and the scrotum. By massaging this area firmly with one or more fingers, you stimulate the prostate from the outside.

A wet dream
Every teenager experiences it: the wet dream. This is when you orgasm in your sleep. Still, it’s not only boys who get wet dreams. Adult men – and even women – can have wet dreams as well. They notice it by the increased discharge in their underwear. A wet dream can be the result of an erotic dream, but in most cases, it’s actually not!
Multiple orgasms
With multiple orgasms, men come several times. So, for example, you have sex, you come, you take a break, and then you continue. The younger you are, the shorter the recovery period will be. It’s also possible to continue without taking a break. Especially for young men, it’s possible to have several orgasms in a row. It may be that your second orgasm is dry, meaning that no semen comes out during ejaculation. This is quite normal.
Pelvic orgasms in men
The pelvic orgasm is the orgasm you get when you stop yourself from ejaculating just in time. You let yourself come to the edge of an orgasm, but then you stop. Why would you want to do this? For two reasons: first, you learn to control your orgasms better, and secondly, your orgasm will be much more intense if you do ejaculate later!
