ASMR; sex with senses

asmr whispering

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Many people associate ASMR with the well-known videos of so-called ‘ASMRtists’, who tap their fingers on various objects, or whisper into the microphone. ASMR is often caused by an audible stimulus, such as whispering or scratching, but it can also be caused by physical contact. There are many different ways to experience AMSR, but it always has the same effect; that pleasant ‘tingling’ sensation on your scalp or the back of your neck. Generally speaking, in people who experience ASMR, different brain networks that are ‘normally’ separate from each other are activated at the same time and mix together. This way, touch can be associated with hearing, and sight with emotion for example.

When are you susceptible to ASMR?

Why is it that one person is very sensitive to whispering, tapping, and hair-brushing sounds, while another person isn’t at all? The University of Winnipeg Canada researched ASMR. They examined the brains of eleven people who reported experiencing ASMR and eleven other people who said they don’t experience it. The University came to the conclusion that a certain part of the brain, which is especially active when you are at rest and is associated with thoughts, looked different in the first group than in the second group. Some areas of the brain worked together less, while other areas worked together more.

ASMR and personalities

The University of Winnipeg Canada conducted another study on the relationship between different personalities and ASMR. The study consisted of nearly 600 participants and concluded that there is a difference in personality types between people who experience ASMR and people who do not. People who experienced ASMR were more open to new experiences, but were also more emotionally unstable. And when looking at personality traits such as extroversion and meticulousness, the people who experienced ASMR didn’t score as high as the people who did not.

ASMR and sex

Erogenous areas can be activated by your senses when touched. If you think that only physical touch causes stimulating sensations, you are wrong. Just as a nibble on your ear pleasures your clitoris, sexy whispering, or watching your loved one slowly lick something can offer that same feeling.

Apart from brain orgasm, before 2010, there wasn’t even a name for ASMR. It was called goose bumps or tingling. This could be partly due to the fact that not everyone can experience ASMR. Among those who do experience it, the triggers and sensations can vary greatly.

Sensual ASMR can be conducive to the relaxation of body and mind and can therefore improve your sex life. We know that sex can be a way to free your mind from stress. How great it is to drift off on a wave of erotic pleasure while someone whispers sweet sexy things in your ear. ASMR can be the perfect way to relax and unwind.

Experiment with ASMR

Combined with a massage and lovely scented oils, you can really build up your erotic session to a complete sensory and sensual experience. From brain orgasms to complete body orgasms. Experimenting to find out if ASMR is something that works for you is definitely worth it.
