For instance, one man swooned at the mere sight of women in sunglasses and another man had his eyes glued to the television each time women’s tennis was on. Aside from quirky, personal preferences such as white ankle socks in bed, many men are apparently attracted to characteristics such as friendliness and modesty. Research conducted by EdenFantasys among two thousand Americans showed that many men were attracted to traits that complemented their personality. They felt sexually attracted to someone who made them feel good and safe.

Psychologist Nikki Martinez agrees. In Bustle, she points out that men subconsciously look for small personality traits that complement their personality. They are not looking for physical assets, like the size of a woman’s breasts or buttocks, although these do play a part as well. Men are also impressed when they notice a woman is caring and funny. In any case, men feel sexually attracted to serious traits such as intelligence, friendliness and confidence, which should be a source of hope for all of us!

1: Laughing

Chuckling, giggling, chortling: most men think you’re irresistible when you’re laughing. Especially if you’re so into it that the tears start rolling down your cheeks. They think it’s sexy that you feel so comfortable in the situation that you aren’t afraid to burst out in laughter. That you don’t try to maintain an unapproachable, mysterious appearance, but instead just let yourself go in a fit of laughter. Or if you let out a charming giggle at one of his jokes, of course. Most women worry about their appearances, especially when they wake up with messy hair and smeared make-up after a one-night stand. But there is no reason for this because apparently, men find unkempt and slightly messy women super-sexy. In fact, they prefer the messy look over a perfectly put-together appearance. This explains the preference many men have for a natural look without a lot of visible make-up. They think the unstyled version of you is so much cuter and more vulnerable than they immediately want to head back to bed with you. Apparently, messy is sexy. So take advantage of that!

6: Glasses

Remember getting glasses for the first time when you were seven years old and crying in front of the mirror because you thought no boy would ever fall in love with you?
